When someone does a search for the term “chairs,” what are they looking for? The search itself is not very specific. They could be looking for a variety of things:

  • office chairs
  • leather chairs
  • rocking chairs
  • folding chairs
  • recliner chairs
  • lounge chairs
  • dining room chairs
  • etc.

It’s nearly, if not completely, impossible for a search engine to determine what type of chair the searcher is looking for. A good result for such a search would be a generic chair web site or page with a variety of choices.

For example, our chairs page features all of the above types of chairs plus some. When someone lands on this page, they can then see a selection of various types of chairs and choose which type they are interested in.

Can you think of any way we could improve on this to get you to the chair you want faster?
